A 23-year-old woman was shot in an industrial area in Garden Grove Wednesday night, according to police. The woman, who police say is an admitted prostitute, suffered a single gunshot wound in the incident.
According to Sgt. Michael Viscomi of the GGPD, the incident occurred on Seaboard Circle near Westminster Avenue around 10:45 a.m. The victim told police she was picked up in Santa Ana and driven to the Seaboard location where the situation turned violent.
The suspect began choking the woman and then shot her. She was able to escape the car, and her assailant drove away. The woman was treated at a local hospital for her wound, which was not considered life-threatening.
Police describe the suspect as a male Hispanic in his late 20s to early 30s with light complexion, short black hair in a “fade” hairstyle. He is said to have a stocky build and speak with a heavy accent. He was last seen wearing a white collared short-sleeved top similar to a uniform shirt, and dark brown or beige work pants.
