A CANDIDATE FORUM for Garden Grove will be held on Saturday.

A candidates’ forum for municipal elections in Garden Grove will be held on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Courtyard Center, 12732 Main St.

all-politics-is-localThe event, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the Garden Grove Neighborhood Association and the Garden Grove Downtown Business Association.

On Nov. 8, local voters will – for the first time – be electing council members by district. The mayor will continue to elected city-wide.

DEADLINE FOR CAMPAIGN STATEMENTS SOON

Candidates for local offices are reminded that the deadline for the first pre-election campaign statements – listing contributors and loans – is set for Thursday, Sept. 29.

The statements will cover the period of July 1 through Sept. 24. City council candidates will submit their statements to the city clerk’s office in their jurisdiction.

CANDIDATES QUESTIONNAIRES COMING SOON

Questionnaires for candidates for public office in Garden Grove, Huntington Beach and Westminster will soon be sent by the Orange County Tribune. The results will be posted on our website at www.orangecountytribune.com .

Candidates will be asked to submit a brief biography, answer some questions about local issues and provide a color photograph. If you don’t receive a questionnaire, contact us at orangecountytribune@gmail.com .
