The Los Angeles Angels on Tuesday night imitated what the Los Angeles Rams did on Monday night. They got hammered and shut out with a weak offensive performance.
Against the Seattle Mariners, the Angels lost 8-0 and managed just three hits. Taijuan Walker (6-10) pitched a complete game, striking out 11 batters and walking none. He had a perfect game going through five innings.
The M’s staked out an early 4-0 lead after two innings and then put the game away with four runs in the sixth. Seattle got home runs from Nelson Cruz, Norichika Aoki and Seth Smith, the latter being a grand slam.
The Angels (63-81) got singles from Kole Calhoun, Albert Pujols and Nick Buss. They are back in action again Wednesday facing the Mariners (77-68). Jhoulys Chacin (5-8) will get the start for the Halos.
