NINE area high school sports squads some some recognition from CIF-SS pollsters Monday.

Nine local high school sports teams were honored by pollsters in the CIF-SS rankings released Monday. Four football teams and four from other sports from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area were either ranked in the Top Tens or at least received some votes.

Football: Edison (4-0) is ranked number one in Division 3 for the third straight week. Marina (3-1) received some votes in Division 12. Orange (4-0) is sixth in the Division 13 poll, and Ocean View (3-1) received votes in that poll.

Girls’ cross country: Bolsa Grande is rated eighth in Division 8.

Boys’ water polo: Huntington Beach is fourth in Division 1. In Division 6, Ocean View is third, while Los Amigos received some votes.

Girls’ tennis: Orange is 10th in Division 5.
