ALL THE LOCAL teams in action Saturday lost.

ALL THE LOCAL teams in action Saturday lost.

The Angels are nearly finished with their 2016 season, and recorded a loss Saturday night. The Ducks lost a pre-season game in overtime. Here’s a wrap of Saturday’s sports action.

Astros 3, Angels 0

In the next-to-last game of the season, the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim saw their four-game winning streak snapped with this loss. The Halos (73-88) managed only four hits and two walks. The season concludes Sunday at the Big A with Jhoulys Chacin (5-8) making the start for the Angels.

Coyotes 3, Ducks 2 (OT)

Well, it was at least worth a point. The Anaheim Ducks continued their pre-season schedule with an overtime loss to Arizona at Gila River Arena. Michael Sgarbossa and Nick Sorensen scored for the visitors. Next up will be a contest Sunday at Honda Center in which the Ducks host the Los Angeles Kings

Long Beach City 42, Golden West 20

The Rustlers suffered their fourth straight loss Saturday, falling to the Vikings on the road. GWC (1-4) was led by Adam Vance, who threw for 253 yards and two scores, but was intercepted twice. Gabriel Ford was the leading rusher for Golden West with 52 yards on 14 carries.

Pomona-Pitzer 35, Chapman 7

The homecoming game for the Panthers was a disappointment as Chapman lost to the visitors. Their lone score came in the first period when Jacob Isabel caught a 52-yard pass from Ian Craddock. The Panthers tried three players at the quarterback position. Next up for Chapman (1-2) is a road game at Whittier College (0-3).
