Maybe they could form a chapter of Vehicle Thieves Anonymous.
On Friday at 8:09 p.m., Sgt. Scott Gump of the Westminster Police Department spotted a stolen motorcycle parked on the 7000 block of Wyoming Street. Officers staked out the area until a suspect came out of a home to the cycle. He was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on a charge of felony auto theft, and the motorcycle returned to its owner.
Later, at 2:07 a.m. on Saturday, Sgt. Eddie Squad located a stolen vehicle parked at the Motel 6 at Westminster Boulevard and Willow Street. With police watching, three people entered the vehicle and were detained. The driver, identified only as an adult male, was arrested for felony auto theft and was found to have several outstanding warrants for auto theft and burglary.
According to the WPD, he was taken to Orange County Jail “where he became bunk mates with the auto theft arrestee from earlier in the evening.”
