A fire at a West Garden Grove industrial complex revealed a large marijuana growing operation Tuesday afternoon.
According to Capt. Thanh Nguyen of the Garden Grove Fire Department, the blaze in the 7500 block of Santa Rita Circle was reported at around 4 p.m. It took fire crews from Garden Grove and the Orange County Fire Authority about 40 minutes to knock down the blaze.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is believed to be malfunctioning electrical equipment. The estimated value of the loss was put at $50,000 to the structure and $250,000 to the contents, which included many marijuana plants, according to the Garden Grove Fire Department.
