A 64-YEAR-OLD Huntington Beach man lost his life in a fire Wednesday morning.

An early morning blaze at a mobile home in Huntington Beach took the life of a 64-year-old man on Wednesday, according to authorities. The fire took place at the Huntington Mobile Home Estates in the 7600 block of Garfield Avenue.

Firefighters were summoned at 2:20 a.m. and found flames and heavy smoke showing from the windows of the home. They pulled Thomas Curtis from the his unit. He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he died from his injuries at 3:06 a.m., according to the Orange County Coroner’s office.
