The Anaheim Ducks got plucked but good Sunday night, losing 8-3 to the Calgary Flames at the Saddledome. The host team blew open a close 1-0 game with five goals in the second period. It was the team’s second-straight loss, and it dropped them into third place in the NHL Pacific Division with a 12-9-5 record.

Ryan Kesler scored Anaheim’s two goals, giving him a team-leading 11 for the season. It was the Ducks second consecutive loss. Jonathan Bernier was in goal for the Orange County team, making 17 saves while yielding all eight tallies. Anaheim actually outshot Calgary 33-25 and couldn’t light the red lamp as often.

They will be back in action on Wednesday back in Anaheim to take on the Carolina Panthers (10-10-5).
