A 29-year-old man is in jail and a woman in a local hospital after a hit-and-run crash Tuesday afternoon in Garden Grove. According to Lt. Tom DaRe of the GGPD, the accident took place in the area of Brookhurst Street and 13th Street around 4:40 p.m.
Arrested was David Colon of Garden Grove. Police say that he was driving his 2004 silver Nissan 350z sport car when it struck a 55-year-old woman pedestrian.
He parked his vehicle in the parking lot of the Just Tires store at 14040 Brookhurst and fled, according to police. Colon admitted to having been the driver, said police, and officers believe he was driving while being impaired.
Colon was arrested and booked into Orange County Jail on a hit-and-run charge and with possible charge for DUI. The victim suffered what are described as “life-threatening injuries” and was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to UCI Medical Center in Orange.
