A WOMAN walking across Haster Avenue in Garden Grove Friday night was fatally injured when sttuck by an automobile.

UPDATE: The Orange County Coroner’s office has identified the woman as Gloria Perez, 75, of Garden Grove.

A woman was killed trying to walk across Haster Avenue south of Lampson Avenue Friday night, according to Garden Grove police. The incident was reported at 7:09 p.m.

The woman – who was not identified by police – was walking across the street in an area not marked as a crosswalk. She was in the northbound right lane when she was struck by a white Honda Accord. The woman was treated at the scene by Garden Grove Fire Department paramedics and taken to UCI Medical Center in Irvine, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be involved, police say. Witnesses to the accident are asked to call the GGPD Neighborhood Traffic Unit at (714) 741-5823.
