A rash of drunk driving incidents in Huntington Beach overnight resulted in a collision, injuries and four people sent to jail.
According to the HBPD, the incidents occurred from 7:54 p.m. Tuesday and 1:37 a.m. Wednesday.
The first incident was a crash at Gothard Street at McFadden Avenue where vehicle rolled over into a ditch. According to police, an intoxicated driver drove his car into oncoming traffic and collided with another vehicle head-on. Both vehicles careened off the roadway.
The second motorist suffered minor-to-moderate injuries and the first driver was arrested on a felony DUI charge. While the officers were conducting their investigation, another car went through the police warning flares. The driver of that vehicle was found to be drunk and was also arrested for DUI.
At 10:55 p.m. an HBPD officer spotted a car traveling without its headlights on and was stopped. The 22-year-old driver was intoxicated, police say, and was booked for DUI.
Then, at 1:37 p.m. a second 22-year-old driver was stopped by an officer and he was also booked into jail for driving under the influence.
