
A VEHICLE burglary suspect was arrested early Saturday morning after allegedly stealing from a car in Westminster.
A burglary suspect was arrested being spotted by a security guard, followed by a police officer and stopped by a team of police from Westminster and Santa Ana early Saturday morning.
According to the WPD, the incident began shortly before 1 a.m. at the Windmill Apartments, 15400 Belgrade in Westminster, when an on-site security guard reported a vehicle burglary in progress. Supplied with a vehicle description and direction of travel, police began the search. Officer Adriana Villezcas spotted the vehicle as it left Westminster traveling into Santa Ana.
Westminster police assisted Santa Ana officers on a traffic stop; the driver was arrested. A search of the vehicle turned up an altered Airsoft handgun, drugs, burglary tools and recovered what had been taken, including a handicap parking placard belonging to the 82-year-old victim. The placard was found hanging from the rear view mirror of the suspect vehicle.
