A 37-year-old Garden Grove woman was arrested Friday for violating a protective order in connection with contact between a child rape victim and the accused perpetrator. According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Jessica Lee Pearles was charged on Tuesday for allegedly “facilitating communications” between the 9-year-old girl and a man in Orange County Jail – a family member – charged with raping the victim several times in 2014.
Pearles was arrested on Friday at her workplace by Garden Grove police. The DA alleges that from April 29, 2016 to Nov. 22, 2016, she violated the protective order by allowing phone conversations between the girl and her alleged attacker, which is a misdemeanor. If convicted, she could face a maximum sentence of one year in county jail.
An arraignment date has not been determined.
