It should be a wet weekend. If you feel up to braving the rain, here are some entertainment options for the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area. But be careful and make sure to bring an umbrella and some waterproof footwear.

Major films opening this week in local cinemas include:

  • “A Cure For Wellness.” The medical miracles at a Swiss spa may be more sinister than they appear. Stars Dane DeHaan. Rated R.
  • “Fist Fight.” A timid teacher (Charlie Day) runs afoul of a bare-knuckled colleague (Ice Cube). Rated R.
  • “The Great Wall.” Matt Damon defends the Great Wall of China from a supernatural menace. Also starring Pablo Pascal and Willem Dafoe. Rated PG-13.

myfairladyON STAGE

Opening on Friday at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster will be a production of the musical “My Fair Lady.” Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and 2 p.m. on Sundays through March 5.

Many outdoor events planned for this weekend, such as Garden Grove’s farmers’ market and car show, and Huntington Beach’s lifeguard tryouts, may be cancelled because of the likelihood of rain. Check with the sponsors before making a special trip.
