HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH’S girls’ soccer team advanced with a win Tuesday, but Pacifica lost.

There’s just one survivor among local teams in the CIF-SS girls’ soccer playoffs.

In Division 1 play on Tuesday, Huntington Beach advanced to the quarterfinal round by edging San Clemente. After a scoreless tie that included two overtimes, the Oilers finally prevailed 4-1 in penalty kicks. Rachel Harris was a hero in goal for the orange-and-black, making two saves on penalty kicks by the Tritons.

Huntington Beach (20-7-5) will face Chino Hills (18-5-3) on Friday.

In Division 2, Pacifica lost its second round game to University by a score of 4-1. The Mariners finished their season with a 10-10-4 mark.
