The rain has let up, but should return this weekend. Here are some attractions in the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area worthy of getting out your umbrellas.

  • “Collide.” A robbery backfires and a man and his girlfriend are running from the law and badder bad guys. Starring Nicholas Hoult, Felicity Jones and Ben Kingsley. Rated PG-13.
  • “Get Out.” Jordan Peele of the comedy duo Key & Peele directed this horror story with a strong racial dimension. Early reviews are euphoric.

Starring Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Catherine Kenner and Bradley Whitford. Rated R.


“My Fair Lady” at the Rose Center Theater in Westminster with performances Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.


“Reprise” is a choral/vocal revival of hit tunes from 50 years of Mainstage Theater productions at Golden West College in Huntington Beach. The performance is Saturday at 7:30 p.m. in the college’s Forum II. Admission is free.


“Casino Royale,” the annual gala of the Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce, will be at the Waterfront Hilton Hotel, 2110 Pacific Coast Highway in Huntington Beach. Registration and dinner is from 5:30-7 p.m., with casino-style gaming from 7-10 p.m. For more information, go to .
