The Garden Grove Unified School District will celebrate the artistic skill and talent of hundreds of students on Saturday, March 11 at the awards presentations for the district’s 39th annual First Impressions Student Art Exhibit & Ceremony.

LogoforNewsBriefsThe awards presentation will be held at the Garden Grove Community Center, Butterfield A/B Room, 11300 Stanford Ave. Awards will be presented to students in preschool through sixth grade at 10 a.m. and to intermediate and high school students at 11:15 a.m.

Students across all grade levels from preschool to high school submitted artwork from a whole host of categories including ceramics, crafts, digital art, drawings, graphics, jewelry, paintings, photography, sculpture and more.

The artwork will be on display in a gallery hosted at The Courtyard on the Village Green, 12732 Main Street, Garden Grove on March 11, 23 and 14.

IT’S EASY BEING GREEN

Garden Grove seniors are invited to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a fun-filled event that includes Irish tradition, themed beverages, and dancing to live music provided by The Serenaders.

The free event will take place at the Garden Grove Community Meeting Center, 11300 Stanford Ave., on Wednesday, March 15, from 10 to 11:45 a.m.

GET A JOB WITH GARDEN GROVE

The City of Garden Grove Community Services Department is now accepting on-line applications for several part-time seasonal and non-seasonal positions at a variety of City facilities.

Job openings include:

  • Sports (Recreation Specialist I)
  • Day Camps & Parks (Recreation Specialist I)
  • Lifeguard (Recreation Specialist II)
  • Instructor Guard (Recreation Specialist III)
  • Pool Manager (Community Services Coordinator)
  • Recreation Specialist III (Non-seasonal)

The deadline for part-time seasonal positions is March 8. The deadline for part-time non-seasonal positions is March 7. Applications and a detailed job description for each position can be found at http://www.garden-grove.org.
