The Anaheim Ducks moved to within two points of first place in the NHL Pacific Division with a 4-2 win over the Edmonton Oilers Wednesday night at Honda Center. The win put the Ducks’ record at 39-23-11 and 89 points, compared to the San Jose Sharks (42-24-7, 91 points).
After a 2-2 first period deadlock, the Ducks won the second period decisively, scoring two unanswered goals. Anaheim met two Oiler goals in the first with tallies by Patrick Eaves and Hampus Lindholm and then broke the game open with second period goals by Josh Manson and Rickard Rakell. Lindholm also had two assists.
Jonathan Bernier had a solid night in goal, with 29 saves. The Ducks are next in action on Friday hosting the Winnipeg Jets (33-33-7).
