She allowed rape suspect to phone victim

A GARDEN GROVE woman pleaded guilty Friday to helping a rape suspect speak on the phone to a 9-year-old girl he allegedly raped.

A Garden Grove woman has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge in connection with allowing a phone conversation between a 9-year-old girl and the man accused of raping her.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Jessica Lee Pearles, 37, pleaded guilty on May 5 to one count of violation of a protective order. The sentence is 30 days in county jail, 30 days of community service and three years of informal probation.

A court order prohibited all contact between the victim and the man accused of raping the girl “multiple times” in 2014. The woman, a family member of the girl, “facilitated phone contact” between the two, the man being held in Orange County Central Men’s Jail in Santa Ana. The phone calls conducted between April 19, 2016 and Nov. 22, 2016

Pearles was arrested by Garden Grove police on Feb. 10, 2017 at her workplace.
