A 20-year-old Santa Ana man was fatally stabbed Friday night in Garden Grove and one suspect is in custody, according to police. The incident took place in the 12800 block of Haster Street around 9:15 p.m.
Officers responding to a report of a domestic dispute between a male and a female arrived to find a man with a stab wound to his chest. Garden Grove paramedics treated the victim, who was taken to UCI Medical Center where he succumbed to his wounds.
He was identified as Genaro Diaz.
A preliminary investigation indicates that the incident was not a domestic dispute but instead an altercation between two men. Arrested for homicide was Antonio Esquivel, 21, of Garden Grove. A second suspect, described as being an adult male, possibly Hispanic or white, is being sought.
Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact the GGPD’s homicide unit.
