An investigation is underway into the shooting of a man in the area between Garden Grove Park and Bolsa Grande High School Thursday evening. The incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Deodara Drive, according to police.
A report of shots fired brought police to the 13600 block of Deodara and officers found a man – described only as a male Asian, 18, and a resident of Garden Grove – with a gunshot wound to the arm. The wound was not considered life threatening. He was treated at the scene and taken to a local hospital where he was listed as being in stable condition.
Police believe the man was walking along Deodara southbound toward Trask Avenue when a suspect came out of a dark sports utility vehicle and fired several shots at the victim. The suspect vehicle raced away southward “at a high rate of speed.” No motive for the shooting has yet been determined.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information about it is asked to call the GGPD at (714) 741-5800.
