Second suspect held in fatal stabbing

A SECOND SUSPECT has been arrested in the stabbing murder of a man in Garden Grove.

The arrest of a second suspect has been made in the fatal stabbing of a man in Garden Grove on Friday.

According to Sgt. Ray Bex of the Garden Grove Police Department, detectives on Saturday arrested Daniel Jones-Hoebel, 21, a transient, for the murder of Genaro Diaz, 20, of Santa Ana. He and the previously-arrested suspect, Antonio Esquivel, 21, of Garden Grove, were booked into Orange County Jail in Santa Ana.

The incident took place Friday around 9:15 in the 12800 block of Haster Street. Police believe that Diaz was stabbed during an altercation with the two suspects. He was treated by paramedics and taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange where he succumbed to his wounds.
