Report on July 4 issues on council agenda

A REPORT ON public safety issues related to July 4 will be presented to the city council on Monday.

A report on public safety issues that arose over the July 4 weekend will be presented at Monday’s meeting of the Huntington Beach City Council. The council’s regular session starts at 6 p.m. in the chambers in the Civic Center, 2000 Main St.

City Manager Fred Wilson will call on Police Chief Robert Handy and Fire Chief David Segura to recap concerns and suggestions related to the use of fireworks, the July 4 parade and related matters.

Also on the agenda for Monday will be:

  • an update from the Historic Wintersburg Task Force;
  • approval of infrastructure improvements at Central Park;
  • approval of a tax-sharing agreement between the city and Surf City Auto Group II for the opening of a new free-standing Jeep dealership.

The next council meeting is set for Monday, Aug. 7.
