HELICOPTERS are being used to search for two missing hikers from Westminster in Joshua Tree.

The search continued Tuesday for two Westminster residents lost in the Joshua Tree National Forest. Rachel Nguyen and Joseph Orbeso, students at California State University, Fullerton, were first reported missing on July 27 when they didn’t return to their lodgings, and their belongings were left behind.

Authorities are searching for the pair with helicopters, dogs and hundreds of volunteers. Anyone who has seen the two missing hikers or had contact with them is asked to call San Bernardino Dispatch at (909) 383-5652.
