A pre-trial hearing for a woman accused of making a false insurance claim over a traffic accident in Garden Grove is scheduled for Friday at Central Justice Center in Santa Ana at 8:30 a.m.
According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Alejandra Amezcua Rodriguez is facing a charge of insurance fraud over an incident on May 29, 2015. She is accused to claiming she was the driver of a vehicle which struck a guardrail, instead of the relative who was the actual motorist.
On June 1, 2015, Rodriguez submitted a claim to Infinity Insurance and received $16,000 from the company. The file was investigated by the California Department of Insurance, and in reviewing the accident report of the Garden Grove Police Department, learned that the accused had not been in the vehicle at the time. The CDI and OCDA worked together on the case.
