The reshuffling of divisions for the fall CIF-SS football season has been kind to local schools in terms of the initial poll. Seven teams from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area are ranked in the top 10s, and two of them – Edison and Orange – are at the top of their polls.
Here are the results after Week Zero for area teams:
- Division 2: Edison (1-0) first.
- Division 7: Huntington Beach (0-1) sixth (Yorba Linda is first)
- Division 10: Pacifica (1-0) sixth (Valley View is first)
- Division 11: Westminster (0-0) seventh (Arcadia is first)
- Division 12: Marina (1-0) third (Santa Ana is first)
- Division 13: Orange (0-0) first; La Quinta (0-0) seventh.
Watch lists for boys’ polo, girls’ volleyball
The initial “watch lists” for the top teams in boys’ water polo and girls’ volleyball include eight area teams.
In polo, the teams are:
- Divisions 1 and 2: Huntington Beach
- Division 5: Marina
In volleyball, the teams are:
- Division 1: Edison, Huntington Beach
- Division 7: Garden Grove
- Division 9: Los Amigos, Rancho Alamitos, Orange.
