A 24-year-old Cypress man was arrested this week for allegedly hijacking an ambulance in Westminster and finally pulling over after a 15-minute chase on the San Diego Freeway.
The California Highway Patrol identified the suspect as Christopher Crisanto. A CARE ambulance transporting Crisanto on Wednesday reported that the patient was becoming unruly and after the vehicle pulled over, the man jumped into the driver’s seat.
Moving speeds of up to 80 miles an hour, the ambulance finally stopped near the interchange of the San Diego (405) and San Gabriel River (605) freeways.
