CIF-SS playoffs are underway for volleyball and water polo.

Several local teams advanced in CIF-SS playoff action Tuesday for boys’ water polo and girls’ water polo.

In water polo, Ocean View defeated Wilson High of Hacienda Heights 12-6 in Division 5 action and will visit Temescal Canyon on Thursday.

In Division 6 Pacifica had a bye and with host La Sierra on Thursday. Garden Grove will open D-7 action on Thursday, hosting Beverly Hills.

Volleyball action on Tuesday saw Edison lose 3-2 to Vista High of Murrieta in Division 1 play. Also in D-1, Huntington Beach beat Murrieta Valley 3-0 and will visit Corona del Mar on Thursday.

In Division 8, La Quinta beat Fairmont Prep 3-0 and will host Upland Christian Academy on Thursday. In Division 8, Orangewood Academy bested Desert Christian Academy 3-0 and will host Sacred Heart of Jesus on Thursday.
