CIF-SS FOOTBALL playoff pairings are being announced today (Sunday).

The first round pairings for the CIF-SS football playoff have been announced, and six teams from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area will be kicking off Friday in the post-season tournament.

Here are the matchups for teams of interest to Tribune readership.

• Division 2: Edison (7-3, Empire League #2 team) at La Habra (7-3, Freeway #1); Norco (6-4, Big VIII No. 2) at Los Alamitos (7-3, Empire #1).
• Division 6: Elsinore (6-4, Sunbelt at-large) at Fountain Valley (6-4, Sunset #3tied).
• Division 8: Sunny Hills (8-2, Freeway #3) at Garden Grove (6-3, Garden Grove #1).
• Division 10: Whittier (5-5, Del Rio #3) at Pacifica (9-1, Empire #1tied).
• Division 11: St. Genevieve (7-2, Santa Fe #2) at Westminster (7-3, Golden West #2).
• Division 13: Orange (8-2, Golden West #3) at Cantwell Sacred Heart (6-4, South Catholic #1); Savanna (6-4, Orange #2) at La Quinta (9-1, Garden Grove #2).

Locations will be announced. One possible stadium complication involves Pacifica and La Quinta, who both use Bolsa Grande Stadium as their home field.
