At least five people are dead and an unknown number wounded in a bloody incident Tuesday morning in the northern California community of Rancho Tehama. One of the dead is the shooter, killed by law enforcement officers.
Among those wounded were “a number” of students at an elementary school, according to authorities. The gunman, identified by one source only as “Kevin,” had been armed with a semi-automatic rifle and two handguns.
The shooting site ranged across at least seven locations, including a home and the school. Rancho Tehama is located roughly 130 miles north of Sacramento. FBI agents are investigating the incidents along with local law enforcement.
