Pedestrian dies after he’s hit by truck

A MAN died after he was hit by a truck while he was walking in Huntington Beach Thursday morning.

A man died Thursday morning after being struck by a truck while walking along a street in Huntington Beach. According to Sgt. Julio Mendez, of the HBPD’s traffic unit, the incident was reported at 5:33 a.m. in the area of Pacific Coast Highway north of Seapointe Street.

The man was identified only as a male, 40 to 50 years of age.

Police believe the vehicle, a white Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling north on PCH when it struck the pedestrian, who appeared to be walking in the northbound lanes of traffic.

The motorist, a 56-year-old resident of Huntington Beach, stayed at the scene and cooperated with police. No arrests have been made.
