Craig’s List robber is sought by police

AN AD for the sale of a laptop computer on Craig’s List led to an armed robbery Garden Grove Friday night.

Police are searching for a suspect who robbed a victim in Garden Grove hoping to sell a laptap computer through Craig’s List. According to Sgt. Juan Centeno, the incident took place around 7:30 p.m. on Friday in a parking lot at 14231 Euclid St., between Westminster and Hazard avenues.

The victim had advertised a MacBook Pro laptop, and arranged through text messages and e-mail to meet for the sale. However, when the “buyer” showed up, he brandished a handgun and took the laptop without paying for it.

The suspect fled the area in an older black sedan southbound on Euclid Street. Police believe it could be a 2000’s Nissan Altima.

According to the GGPD, the robbery suspect is described as a black male, about 20 to 25 years old, 6-feet tall, 165 lbs. with short curly hair. He was wearing a silver “hoodie” sweatshirt and was armed with a black semiautomatic handgun.
