The first “big” boys’ basketball game of the 2018 Sunset League campaign was won by Edison High on Friday night as the Chargers defeated Marina 44-37. The win put the EHS record at 11-4 overall and 1-0 in league.
Jakob Alamudun of Marina (10-7, 0-1) led all scorers with 17 points; David Atencio had 15 for Edison. Next Friday will be another key game in the Sunset race as the Chargers host Newport Harbor (13-4, 10).

Rams back in playoffs after loooooong layoff
The Los Angeles Rams are in the NFL post-season today (Saturday) for the first time since 2003, when they were still in St. Louis. The blue-and-gold will host the Atlanta Falcons in a wild card contest starting at 5:15 p.m. at the Coliseum. The game will be televised on NBC (Channel 4).
The Rams won the NFC West with an 11-5 record, while the Hawks were 10-6 and placed third in the NFC South.
