HIGH SCHOOL basketball results for Wednesday for the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area.

In a clash of two teams ranked in CIF-SS boys’ basketball Top 10s, Garden Grove High defeated Santiago 85-78 on Wednesday night to remain atop the Garden Grove League race.

The Argonauts (19-1 overall, 3-0 in league play) are rated number one in Division 5AAA. Sebatian Castro led Grove with 28 points. The Cavaliers (13-7, 1-2) got 24 points from Isiah Morehouse. Santiago is rated fourth in Division 4A.

Edison remained atop the Sunset League with a 66-40 win over Fountain Valley behind David Atencio’s 23 points and kept its first place position in the Golden West League with a 74-53 win over Westminster. Paul Head scored 35 for the Seahawks (16-4 and 3-0).
