
THE ANAHEIM DUCKS won their fourth straight and the Los Amigos girls’ water polo team advanced to the CIF-SS Division 7 finals on Saturday.
Wednesday was a good day for the Anaheim Ducks and the Los Amigos girls’ water polo team. The Lobos (now 22-6) defeated West Valley 8-6 in overtime in their CIF-SS Division 7 semifinal and will advance to the championship game on Saturday against Marymount (16-5).
In other high school sports action, the last two remaining local boys’ soccer teams lost on Wednesday in CIF-SS action. Santiago lost 2-1 to Mira Costa in Division 2, and Garden Grove lost 3-2 to Hart in Division 4.
The Ducks, meanwhile, won their fourth game in a row in defeating the Dallas Stars 2-0 at Honda Center. The victory put the team’s record at 31-20-11, worth 73 points and solidifying their hold on third place in the NHL Pacific Division (the top three teams in each division make the Stanley Cup playoffs). They’re also one point behind the second place San Jose Sharks.
Hampus Lindholm and Ryan Getzlaf scored for Anaheim. Ryan Miller had 41 saves in goal for the Ducks. Next up will be a game in Arizona against the Coyotes (17-32-10).
