Social media posts threatening some violence at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove on Wednesday caused some anxiety at the westside school, but “police have not found any credibility to the threat,” according to a statement released by the Garden Grove Unified School District.
The school is open and there will be increased police security at the school as a precautionary measure.
In a message to parents, a statement read “We want parents to know that Pacifica and district administrators take all threats seriously and work collaboratively with local law enforcement to investigate any and all threatening comments and/or rumors.
“The safety of our students and staff continues to be our highest priority.”
PHS is located at Lampson Avenue and Knott Street.
Also on Wednesday, a national protest by students over gun violence led to some pupils at Huntington Beach and Ocean View high schools seeing some walk out to support the protest.
More information on this as it becomes available.
