The Anaheim Ducks stopped a four-game losing streak with a 3-0 win Wednesday over the Vancouver Canucks at Honda Center that put them back into a tie for third place in the NHL Pacific Division.
That’s significant because the top three teams in each division go to the Stanley Cup playoffs. With their 35-24-12 record, the Ducks have 82 points, equal with the Los Angeles Kings for that third spot.
Goalkeeper John Gibson had 32 saves in the win. The Ducks got solo scores in each of the periods. Lighting the lamp for Anaheim were Brandon Montour (twice) and Jason Chimera. Next up for the Ducks will be a game at Honda Center hosting the Detroit Red Wings (26-32-11, 63 points).
