Angels homered down by the Red Sox

THE ANGELS lost 10-1 to the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday in Anaheim.

The big showdown Tuesday between the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles Angel – the teams with the best records in baseball – was more of a letdown.

Shohei Ohtani, starting for the Halos, was out of the game after two innings and the Red Sox posted a 10-1 victory. Ohtani gave up a home run to the first batter he faced and left having given up three runs, four hits and two walks. A blistered finger was blamed for the underwhelming performance.

A sell-out crowd of nearly 45,000 fans in Anaheim were disappointed early as the BoSox raced out to an 8-0 lead after 3.5 innings. Mookie Betts did most of the damage, crashing three of the Red Sox’ five home runs.

As for the Halos, they were outhit 15-4 against three Boston pitchers. Albert Pujols did “the best,” going 1-for-3 with an RBI.

The series continues on Wednesday with Tyler Skaggs (2-0) going for the Angels (now 13-4) against the BoSox (14-2).
