A midnight fire in Huntington Beach sent two people to the hospital.

According to Eric Blaska, public information officer for the Huntington Beach Fire Department, the fire was reported at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday at 16541 Loire Circle.

Arriving firefighters saw a Huntington Beach police officer carrying a fire victim from the building, which was showing thick black smoke coming through the front door.

The fire was in the garage, but the open door allowed the smoke to spread throughout the house. The fire was declared to be contained at 12:03 a.m. Sunday.

Three people were evaluated by paramedics. Two were transported to local hospitals and the third was released at the incident.

Seven HBFD units were involved in the incident along with two units from the Orange County Fire Authority and one from the Fountain Valley Fire Department.
