Oilers fall from first in Division 1

HUNTINGTON BEACH HIGH’s baseball team fell from first and third place in this week’s CIF-SS rankings.

Huntington Beach High’s upset baseball loss to Fountain Valley in Sunset League play cost the Oilers the number one ranking in this week’s CIF-SS poll for Division 1.

The Oilers, who lost 20-4 but bounced back with a 6-2 win two days later, dropped to third place. There are 12 spring sports teams from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area getting CIF-SS votes on Monday.

  • Division 4: La Quinta (sixth)
  • Division 5: Rancho Alamitos (fourth)
  • Division 7: Bolsa Grande (ninth)
  • SOFTBALL
  • Division 7: Westminster (third)
  • BOYS VOLLEYBALL
  • Division 1: Huntington Beach (fifth)
  • Division 3: Bolsa Grande (received some votes)
  • Division 4: Rancho Alamitos (third)
  • Division 5: Garden Grove (first)
  • BOYS’ TENNIS
  • Division 3: Garden Grove (votes)
  • Division 4: Bolsa Grande (second)
  • Division 5: Orange (ninth).
