
A NEW ROSE bush will be planted in the civic center on behalf of the new Miss Huntington Beach (Flickr/Anne Davis 773).
The planting of a new rose bush in honor of the 2018 Miss Huntington Beach will be made on Wednesday, May 9, continuing a tradition that began in 1963.
A dedication ceremony will be held at 11:30 a.m. at City Hall for the “Peace” rose planted on behalf of Alyssa Welfringer, the new Miss HB.
The Queen’s Rose Garden is located on the lower level of the Civic Center outside the council chambers, near the police department’s training center.
Mayor Pro Tem Erik Peterson, current and former mayors and past Miss Huntington Beach queens and princesses will be present for the festivities.
A light lunch reception will be held after the event.
The Civic Center is located at 2000 Main St. (at Yorktown Avenue).
