
WESTMINSTER PLANNING COMMISSION meets on Wednesday and will consider a two-sided electronic billboard.
A request for a variance and conditional use permit to install a 64-foot high digital billboard will go between the Westminster Planning Commission when it meets on Wednesday, May 16.
The project was continued from the May 2 meeting of the panel.Electra Media Inc. is proposing to erect the advertising device at 13071 Springdale St., facing the Garden Grove (22) Freeway adjacent to the Westminster Rinks ice hockey facility.
The sign would be 64 feet above grade; the height maximum now is 35 feet. It would operate from 5 a.m. to midnight daily.
In connection with this, EMI is proposing to remove the abandoned Sunset Ford sign along the freeway at 6312 Garden Grove Blvd.
Further, the applicant proposes to share a portion of the revenue from the proposed billboard with the city.
The commission meets at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers at 8200 Westminster Blvd.
