TWO local teams survived the first round of the CIF-SS baseball playoffs.

Two local teams survived first round CIF-SS baseball games Friday and will play in the second round on Tuesday.

Huntington Beach smacked Vista Murrieta 9-1 in a Division 1 contest and will visit Dos Pueblos on May 22. In Division 3 action, Ocean View won a marathon game, defeating Brea Olinda 7-3 in 11 innings. The Seahawks will take on Redlands on Tuesday.

The other four teams from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Westminster area were less successful. Pacifica lost 6-1 to Temescal Canyon in Division 3 play.

In Division 5, Summit bested Garden Grove 12-1, Malibu edged Rancho Alamitos 2-0 and Temple City outpaced La Quinta 9-6.
