Suspect held in alleged stabbing try

A 29-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon on Friday night in Garden Grove.

A 29-year-old woman who allegedly tried to stab a man Friday night in Garden Grove surrendered to police after barricading herself in her home.

According to the GGPD, Kelsey Schutz, 29, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was a 38-year-old Garden Grove man.

Officers were summoned at 9:38 p.m. to a home at 13061 Lampson Ave. to respond to a report of domestic violence. The woman allegedly attempted to stab the man, who was able to flee.

The woman barricaded herself in the residence “armed with a knife,” according to police. She eventually surrendered and was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for “minor injuries sustained during the incident.” She was later booked into Orange County Jail.
