A WESTMINSTER man faces a possible life sentence in a fatal drunk driving incident.

A Westminster man was arraigned on Monday for murder in connection with an incident in which he allegedly drove drunk and crashed his car at 110 miles an hour into the vehicle of a woman in Fountain Valley.

According to the Orange County District Attorney’s office, Jonathan Truong St. Thomas, 24, faces one felony murder count and – if convicted – could be sentenced to 15 years to life in state prison.

The incident was on Oct. 13, 2017 at about 11:35 p.m. The suspect allegedly was speeding and driving drunk southbound on Magnolia Street in Fountain Valley.

Authorities say his vehicle collided with one driven by Melanie Barlow, 25, at Mint Avenue. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Fountain Valley police arrested St. Thomas.
