THREE MORE candidates – two in Westminster and one in Garden Grove – met the filing deadline Wednesday for posts on the their city councils.
NOTE: Adding names in the Westminster race not included previously.
The lineup for November city council elections in Garden Grove and Westminster are now set.
With the filing of nomination papers extended to Wednesday (today) at 5:30 p.m., one more candidate met the deadline in Garden Grove, and two in Westminster.
Adding his name to the list of hopefuls seeking the District 1 seat is Roger Flanders, a retired police officer. Previously qualified candidates for the seat are Adam Jason Degner, George Brietigam, Gerry Serrano, and Joshua Kramer.
The filing period was extended because incumbent Kris Beard chose not to run, citing concerns about his eligibility under city term limits.
In Westminster, two names were added to the list of people seeking two seats on the council. They are Jason Gray and Visual William. Previously qualified candidates are Khai Dao, Amy West, Tai Do, Mark Lawrence, Chi Charlie Nguyen, Frances Nguyen, Samantha Bao Anh Nguyen, Jamison Power, Andy Quach, Anita Rice and Randy Young.
That filing period was extended because incumbent council member Margie Rice is not seeking re-election.
The election will be held on Nov. 6.
