As has been the case for much of the season for the Los Angeles Angels, the team has followed a surge with a skid. After winning three straight games, the Halos have lost two straight after falling 6-4 to the Texas Rangers in Arlington on Friday.
The Rangers scored five runs in the bottom of the second and the visitors from Orange County couldn’t catch up. Andrelton Simmons was the batting star for the Angels, hitting a two-run homer in the sixth that brought the team within two.
After the loss, the Halos settled back to .500 at 62-62 and the Rangers are 55-69. The teams clash again on Saturday.
ALSO, the Los Angeles Dodgers crushed the Seattle Mariners 11-1 on Friday to improve to 66-57 and remain in third place in the National League West, 1.5 games out of first.
