Hiring of interim city manager on agenda

THE STANTON CITY COUNCIL will meet on Tuesday and consider hiring an interim city manager.

The Stanton City Council will take up the matter of naming an interim city manager when it meets on Tuesday.

If the council concurs, a professional services contract will be offered to Robert W. Hall. The deal would be worth $90,960.

The position of city manager became vacant when James Box submitted his resignation in August. He served as the top appointed official in the city of about 40,000 for six years, after serving 11 years in other positions.

Stephen M. Parker, assistant city manager, has been filling in since Box left.

The council will meet in its chambers in City Hall at 7800 Katella Ave. at 6:30 pm. following a closed session at 6 p.m.
