Three of four locals drop grid games

Local teams won just one of four games played Thursday night by football squads from the Garden Grove-Huntington Beach-Stanton-Westminster area.  Here are the results.

  • Santiago 21, Anaheim 7.
  • Fairmont Prep 55, Bolsa Grande 12.
  • Whittier 56, Westminster 21.
  • San Clemente 31, Edison 24.

Top performers:

  • Braeden Boyles (Edison) passed for 227 yards and ran for 64 more.
  • George Hernandez (Bolsa Grande) passed for 206 yards and ran for 49 more.
  • Malachi Mesa (Westminster) passed for 133 yards.
  • Bernardo Monroy (Santiago) passed for 179 yards and two TDs.
  • Ulises Mendez (Santiago) had three catches for 149 yards and two TDs.
